Quantifying the impact of demand optimisation on the degree to which available resources can be stretched to benefit more communities and people

This work will be based on the output of the work on economic benefits of deploying demand optimisation in the management of the rural energy systems. In an environment of scarcity it is prudent to extend as much as possible the available resources to benefit as people as possible. The of this work is to quantify the extent to which resources saved by demand optimisation can be benefit more either in the same community or other communities.

Objectives

  • Review current technical design standards for rural electricity supply system including acceptable levels of quality of supply.
  • Assess the extent to which resources accruing from deployment of demand optimisation can benefit other communities
